Federal Takeover: Same Idiots
in Charge of Airport Security

[Obs.] 2: A foolish person, esp. someone who has done something stupid. 3: A person of subnormal intelligence. 4: A person lacking intellectual sense.
AS AMERICANS were looking forward to higher standards in the new, federalized airport security system, it soon became clear that changes would be limited to an increase in workers' pay and benefits - not their level of education or competence.
In the government's usual wisdom, the Transportation Security Administration has elected not to require its current workforce of 28,000 to have a high school diploma, since a full 7,000 of these idiots would not qualify.
Responding to criticism, Paul Takemoto, a FAA security administration official said, "The idea is to allow current screeners, who would otherwise qualify but may not have high school diplomas, to be eligible, so they do not get left behind."
